Tax Preparation FAQ
How do I get started?
Email taxes@MNOtaxes.com or visit our Get Started page. Share only basic contact information and a general description of the help you need.
What documents will I need?
Your preparer will provide a list based on your situation. It may include income statements, relevant expense records, and prior-year return information. Do not send these through ordinary website forms or email.
Can you prepare individual tax returns?
Contact us about your individual or family filing needs. We will confirm the services available for your particular return before beginning.
Do you work with self-employed taxpayers?
Self-employed individuals, independent contractors, and gig workers can contact us to discuss income, business records, and preparation needs. We will confirm the scope of assistance available.
Do you prepare business returns?
Tell us about your business structure and the returns you need. Availability for LLCs, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and other business situations must be confirmed with a preparer.
Can you prepare prior-year returns?
Ask us about the tax years and filing situation involved. We will confirm availability and the records needed. Electronic filing availability can differ by year and return type.
Can you amend a previous return?
Contact us to discuss the original return and the information that may need to change. A preparer will confirm whether amendment assistance is available for your situation.
How will I communicate with my tax preparer?
Communication may be available remotely, by phone, electronically, or through other arrangements. Contact us to discuss a method that works for you.
How do I provide sensitive tax documents securely?
Contact us for instructions for the appropriate secure tax-software or client portal. Do not submit Social Security numbers, bank details, ID images, W-2s, 1099s, or tax returns through an ordinary contact form or email.
How long does tax preparation take?
Timing depends on your return, the completeness of your records, outstanding questions, and preparer availability. Discuss timing with your preparer; no completion or processing time is guaranteed.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Visit the consultation area on our Contact page. Until our appointment calendar is connected, email taxes@MNOtaxes.com to request an appointment.
